“Bestrooms”

Massart Has a lot of bathrooms. But sometimes, the restrooms near and around the CD classes, and on DS9 can SUCK! In a project I conducted during my fall 2024 semester, I used and/or visited almost every restroom.

For my shy bathroom-goers out there (I see you, and you are valid), the single stalled gender neutral bathrooms on all floors of the DMC and the Collins building are the restrooms for you. I’d say that the best out of those private restrooms is the DMC 3rd floor bathroom; there is little traffic, and the interior is clean, dark, and calming. There are also restrooms on almost every floor of the Tower at the end of each hallway with a set of restrooms that almost never get used. 

If you tend to priotitize an uninterrupted flow of work over bodily function (I see you, and you are valid), both sets of 6th floor restrooms are good. These restrooms also are among the better restrooms in the tower, especially the pair at the end of the hall, they have minimal use and are peaceful to be in. The women’s room in that set has a sick type installation in iit as well which is a big plus. The DS9 restroom definitely works in a pinch, but the stalls get stuck sometimes and if you are tall enough your eye line will sit above the top of the stalls which is not ideal. If you aren’t gonna soil yourself immediately, take a second to go to floor 8’s restroom.

If you don’t have anything at all going on (I see you, and you are valid), take a stroll over to the Kennedy building, 4th floor restrooms. These are, in my opinion (and many other peoples according to my project), the most satisfying restrooms on campus. It is in the painting department, but there isn’t a lot of traffic in that specific bathroom. It isn’t refurbished or new looking at all, in fact you can tell that it’s old and used. However, the restroom is so clean and shiny that it feels the old dents and grit turn into a kind of rustic finished vibe. There are also windows spanning the width of the room that pull in a ton of natural light that makes the space feel very peaceful to take a dump in.
