Need a camera? Or maybe a tablet? Where to find technology on campus.
Whatever your project may be, MassArt has the technology to help you complete it. From desktop computers, to tablets, to cameras, they are all here! Some of these items can be reserved and taken with you, while others stay in their designated spots. These resources are located in different places around campus, so here is where you can find the items you need.
Tech Central
The spot to check out technology and equipment! Located on the 3rd floor of Tower, Tech Central’s name speaks for itself. They have cameras, tripods, speakers, lighting equipment and so much more available to students in all majors (for the full list click here).
Hours:
Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
The Lab
Located primarily on Tower floors 3 and 7, the Lab provides spaces and technology resources for students working on campus. The 2d design studios in rooms T306, T308, T310, T642, T713 and T729 are sometimes reserved for classes, but can be used as studio space in times between classes. These rooms have desktops equipped with PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver and Acrobat.
DS9
The DS9, located on the 9th floor of Tower, has lots of great technology resources, just for Communication Design and Illustration students. Here you can find desktops, tablets, scanners, documentation stations and printers.
Hours:
Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 11:00pm
Saturday – Sunday: 12:00pm – 11:00pm
Documentation Studio
Need to photograph 3d work? The documentation studio, located in DMC room D317, has lighting and backdrops already set up to make taking high quality photos of your work easy. Check out the schedule for availability, and email Kyle Brock kyle.brock@massart.edu to reserve a time in this space. You will need to sign out a camera in tech central before your reservation too!
