What is a resume?
A resume is a single page document that compiles information about you! It is used to tell potential employers about your education, work experience and skills.
Why do I need a resume?
You need a resume to apply to internships and jobs. All employers will require one to apply to positions, and this is how they tell if your skills match their job description.
What do I put on my resume?
Include a header with your name, telephone number, email and portfolio link if you have one. Divide your resume info into categories. Required categories include education, experience and skills. Additional categories may include honors, activities, and exhibitions.
How do I format my resume?
Resumes should be clear, organized and beautifully designed. One of the best ways to learn about resume formatting is to look at examples. Some great resumes from past Communication Design students are included below.
